2019 Parish Fair

St Joseph’s Hobart Parish Fair

Sunday 13th October, 2019

The annual St Joseph’s Restoration Fair is on again this year in Legacy Hall and in the hall’s laneway, from 10.30 am through till 12.30 pm. The Restoration Raffle will be drawn at the conclusion of the Fair.

We really need everyone’s support – most of all through your attendance – but also for stocking and manning the stalls on the day so that we can once again provide much needed funds for the church’s maintenance and restoration program.

What’s on and what we need?

Cake Stall: We need people to make cakes, slices, biscuits, etc. etc. and of course, sellers. If you can help in any way, either with ingredients closer to the event – especially eggs and butter (there won’t be an “Ingredients’ Sunday” this year) or with ready-to-sell items, contact Angela Marquis (via the Parish Office in business hours on 6234 4866) and she will advise on how you can best contribute.

Plants, Flowers and Fresh Produce: The more the better and the fresher the better. If you can contribute, please contact Gina Graves (again via the Parish Office) to arrange either pick-up or delivery.

Treasure and Toys: We need pre-loved items of all varieties for sale. Unfortunately, electrical goods cannot be sold unless they are properly tagged by an authorised electrician or brand new (in original package). Goods can be delivered to the Monastery or can be collected.

Book Stall: Hardbacks, softbacks, CDs, DVDs (even vinyl and cassettes!). Again, these can be delivered to the Monastery or collected by the Organiser, Phil Page (0409 438 625).

Silent Auction: Last year, this was a great success, so we will be running it again with a small number of high-quality items up for grabs. If you can help, please contact the Monastery on 6234 4866 or the Organiser.

Chocolate wheel: A range of prizes would be greatly appreciated. Everything from bottles of wine, boxes of chocolates – all new and inside their use-by dates, movie passes, gift vouchers, jigsaws, cosmetic/toiletry packs, stationery and quality gifts of all types.  Please deliver to the Monastery or contact the Organiser to collect.

There’ll also be our regular favourites: Devonshire Teas, and the BBQ and Soft Drinks (again this year in Legacy laneway near the produce stall, rather than in the church garden), providing delicious food and refreshments throughout the morning.

All food, refreshments, cakes, produce and other items will be sold at great prices.

But…most of all, we need your help, either with setting up or taking down, manning stalls and so on, but most importantly by being there and supporting your parish. If you can help in any way, either as indicated above, or in any other capacity, please contact those people named above or the Organiser.

Thanks in anticipation.
